Before transitioning into permanent senior engineering roles, I spent two decades as an independent software consultant across London and Barcelona. Operating concurrently across diverse production environments — from fast-moving digital agencies to heavily gated enterprise delivery teams — provided a broad foundation in software architecture and delivery.
Consulting requires rapid adaptation. You learn to parse unfamiliar codebases in days, translate technical tradeoffs into business impact for stakeholders, and maintain strict standards for code quality under immovable deadlines.
